Lets see...cool (fridge temperature) dark, dry but well ventilated place. Dry them first, as moisture rots them. Dont allow them to touch each other. An old trick is to use old nylon stockings or tights. Put one in the leg, tie a knot, then the next, another knot, and so on. Straw is not needed.

There is a good possibility that onions that are harvested now will not keep. Those suitable for storage are the really smelly ones that are harvested in Autumn.

      Mine are still growing?
Unless you have overwintering onions which I tend to think dont store that well and should really be eaten from now onwards.
I just dry mine off in the sun in september then store in net bags in the garage overwinter.
Any left around April go into an old fridge I have in the garage, to stop them shooting with the warmer temps.
