    Hi all

I have been using Westland Gro-Sure Farmyard Manure as a mulch around my new fruit trees, and as a general soil conditioner ready for planting veg.

I also have some raspberries, wineberries, and other similar berries and wondered if it is ok to use these kinds of products as mulches here too? I guess I was worried about whether it might damage the stems or leaves of the existing plants/and or the new canes as they start to come through.

    Many thanks

    Max

As no one has replied, I'll give you my thoughts for what they are worth. I don't use manure on established fruit trees/plants, I prefer to add Potash, either ash from a wood fire or Rose fertilizer. I also have stopped mulching fruit trees/bushes, I only put straw under ripening strawberries.
