Having watched Chelsea Flower Show on television last night, I could kick myself for not buying tickets to attend this year!! :( I've made myself a promise to attend next,God willing [IMG]

So I thought I'd start a thread on Chelsea feedback visits, so that those of us who have not been can get some down to earth feedback of what it was like.

I'm keeping my fingers cross that someone will go!! :D

Sorry me neither - the numbers of people and work make it a no go, but someday the pull will be tooo much. TV coverage whilst lovely - can not satisfy all the senses (thinking scent)

Hi, Sorry this one's a bit late, but I did go to chelsea this year (have been for the last 6 years) - it's totally worth it - do go if you get the chance - but be warned tickets go on sale in November & sell out very quickly - I had to get mine through ebay this year. Have also been to Gardeners World live, Tatton Park & Hampton court, all fab, I think Tatton is the nicest as its easily negotiable, relaxed & easily managed in one day (+ you can buy stuff!!!). The drawbacks for Chelsea are the crowding (yes, even this year when they stretched it over an extra day) This tends to happen after 3.30 when they let extra people in - before then it was fine. There is so much to see, garden, flower marquee - a real feast for the senses. Go go go!

    Hi
I have been to Chelsea and really enjoyed it but I think Shrewsbury Flower show this week beats it. I have been every year for the last six years and could never tire of it. It has the most wonderful floodlit display and fireworks each evening until 11pm and the flowers and stalls are excellent. Check it out on the its website. It is held in a wonderful setting and I've never found it crowded although there are thousands of people there.

I am absolutely opposite the show over the other side of the Thames and watched all the tooing and froing as it was set up and then the perople arriving. I have been once in my life ages ago when I was 19 with my father who was a wondeful gardener. I'm a real beginner to gardening but seeing the show inspired me to join the RHS and next year I am definately going. I'm really looking forward to it.

I went to Chelsea this year and I cant wait to go again. I went on the RHS members only day so the crowds were not to bad. Its a great place to buy all your seeds from the exhibitors stands, lots to look at and it was nice to be given the full plant list of each of the gardens. I went away with my head full of design ideas. I also went to Hampton court countless stalls to buy all sorts of goodies. Not so many seeds but plenty of plants available to purchase.
