    Hi,

Just started another 'local' lockdown so we are filling some of the time revamping the greenhouse electric controls for next winter, having just bought another small propogator the other day.

We have an electronic humidity sensor which is used in our small orchid enclosure, but begin to wonder if its really worth having ?

Yes, we can see what it measures but as soon as any vents open its all lost as a meaningful reading.

Does anyone use one and find it of real use in the greenhouse ?

Humidity, I find is one of those difficult things to get a grip of.
Usually they talk of relative humidity, which I tend to think is the humidity relative to the air temperature.
Temperature goes up humidity goes down and vise versa
But the actual amount of moisture in the air is still the same.

Most sensors I have come across seem to work that way.

I remember years ago messing around with a wet and dry bulb thermometer, and one you spun round like a foot ball rattle.
