Hi @Aaron Byrne welcome to GC... Is this an outdoor plant.? Bulb, corm or seed sown.? I am assuming it is outdoor and the first thing that springs to mind is Crocosmia if red flower or Montbretia if orange flower....

Not sure, boys brought it back from nursery. Took about 4+ weeks to germinate from a hard large seed, almost like a chickpea

@Aaron Byrne that does sound like it could be a crocosmia or montbretia corm.. Did they look a bit like these.? They come larger and smaller and sometimes much smoother on outside..

@Aaron Byrne they are hardy so you can plant it in the garden yes.. Once established it will start to form a clump.. Mine are just ahead of yours but they usually start flowering around July onwards..

I'm thinking it could possibly be a palm, although not sure, but that is what many palms look like when first gerimated from seed.
