Hi, this was included in a wild seed box. At first I thought they were poppies until the flower turned out mauve! Any ideas what they are please? IMG_20210612_153045.jpg IMG_20210612_153038.jpg

    I love this plant.
    Phacelia tanacetifolia
    ยท....common name fiddleneck.

Up here the farmers grow it as a green manure and plough it back in.
    Fields of it look stunning.

Oh Wow! Thanks Silver Surfer! Yes the foliage is quite decorative too and the bees seem to love them. I'm looking forward to them all coming into flower
      Many thanks again

I have taken so many images of this dainty flower.
But have still not managed that PERFECT close up.
I will just have to keep trying next time I see it.

        Enjoy yours!
        The bees will adore it.

Last year our local NT property used it in one of their beds instead of the usual formal mass bedding. As most of their gardeners were furloughed it was the longest flowering plant in the gardens and smothered with bees.
