I'd like some suggestions please for a deep purple Rose. It must be repeat flowering and strongly scented. Any suggestions please? So far I've seen Ebb Tide but not sure it's quite the right shade.

I want something a similar shade to my Marcel Menard Rhododendron if at all possible.

The problem is that when looking at the Internet pics, brochures and magazines there's a great chance that the colours in the pics are not the true colours of the rose you're looking for!! You're best going to a specialist commercial rose grower or Specialist Rose Nursery to see them in real light. I go to the Country Rose Garden Centre just outside Shrewsbury where they had literally tens of thousands of varieties of rose and usually come home with a different rose than I originally had in mind:loll::heehee:

Good afternoon Merleworld I can vouch for all the colours as I wouldn't recommend them just by the internet ,I have seen these Roses in local Rose enthusiasts gardens;)

Although I have not personally seen the climber Stormy weather

            Thanks guys :blue thumb:

Woo I knew you'd be along to offer me the benefit of your wisdom :spinning:

I have done a bit of Googling and gone for Midnight Blue. Of course you can never just buy one rose can you? So I also want 'Absolutely Fabulous' so they can sit alongside each other in containers :)

Trouble is, I've found them on C&K Jones website. BUT, the roses come to £23 and the cost of P&P is also £23!!! Ridiculous. Any idea where I can get these? I have Googled and found them both on Beale's website, but at almost £20 each.

I can vouch for Peter Beales quality and service. I paid the same for mine and have to say, you get what you pay for.

If you factor in fuel and time running around looking for the ones you want, you may be as cheap getting them delivered.

the three I got from PB are coming along superbly.
