    Jack by the hedgerow and lots of other names too. Food for the Orange tip butterfly and a real seed pest.

      If you rip a leaf it will have a faint smell of garlic.

        Agreed, Jack by the Hedge, which is usually where it grows, and as said, if allowed to flower and set seed, you don't get rid of it easily. But it's a great source for green material in the compost heap, just cover it up asap so the seeds don't germinate. I use a few lengths of old stair carpet from one of the many local carpet shops.

        Didn't know that about the orange tip butterfly, which explains why I've got them around my garden! And if it grows under your hedges, it helps keep the other weeds down as it's great ground cover as well as a nice display en masse.

          The orange tip butterfly is around at the moment, so it can feed as much as it like, the leaves do have Garlic smell so at the moment it's going to stay as i like feeding all the wildlife and where it is is not a problem :dbgrtmb:
