I wonder if anyone can identify this fuchsia for me please.
It's hardy and grows very tall (now 8 - 9 feet) and can go rather wild too ...

Looks very similar to one I grew years ago, so would be interested in a name.

        Hi Michael,

I can't quite tell from the photos, is it a single / semi-double or double ?

Do you know the " fuchsiafinder " website ? It lists every fuchsia that is currently available to buy ( most with photos ) and gives details of colours, tube lengths, corolla sizes etc. At the present there are around 6,500 ! ! !

          Thank you all :)

It isn't Mrs Popple. I have that one also.

          I think it's a semi double.
I'll have a look at the Fuchsiafinder website tomorrow.

          It's HUGE.

If you dont mind me asking @Michael Hewett .
What makes you think its hardy.

In your pics it appears to be growing under cover, or at least with protection.

It has come through several hard winters without dying back at all, when a tender one would surely have died in the same position. It is only under a perspex sheet.

Well I see your point, but hardy means to me it can survive outside with no protection.

What I mean is, would the top growth survive frost in the open garden.
Often things get through cold winters because they are dry, we usually get cold frosty and wet winters all at the same time.

I dont think we have had a hard winter for at least 4 yrs.

There's another one in the open garden. It doesn't get as tall as this one, although it does reach about 4 feet high. It dies back a bit in the winter.
