    looking for some help identifying these plants/flowers.

    would like to know if they are weeds or good things ?

      thanks for the reply pete and the information :)

      is it normal for flowers/plants/grasses to be growing out of the garden walls ?

      any way to stop this ?

      Aquiliega ( also known as Granny bonnets and Columbine) will self seed anywhere and everywhere.. Lovely jolly plants and easy to remove.. :SUNsmile:

        Well quite a lot of people like that kind of thing, depends on the situation and the wall I suppose.

        Weedkiller, or just pull them out, I'm guessing the wall is either a dry stone wall or a very old crumbly brick wall.

          We have lots of these growing from between our inherited old yorkstone paving uneven slabs. We love them, they come in lots of colours and are really nice, totally up to youvthoigh obviously! :smile:

          Adding to MF's comment. I've known them to be called, Poor mans orchid.

          It is interesting just how some seeds will germinate in unusual places, most annoying when perhaps you have taken steps to sow etc correctly with no results, yet a seed, by hook or by crooks findsa spot and does well. Aquiliegia McKennas hybrids produce some fine variations.

            I’m amazed how many mad places I see budleia growing! Like gutters 8 storeys up or from under windowsills etc!
