I'm a gardening novice

    Good evening all,

    As you can see from the subject line, I'm a newbie to gardening (and also writing on forums as this is my 3rd attempt to post this message!)

    We've been in our house for two years and have been concentating on the interior and our sights are now firmly set on the garden. The patio has now been laid and this has a raised flowerbed on one side with the lawn behind it. This is the first time we've had to design a garden from scratch and we don't have any experience apart from helping with the weeding in our parents gardens!

    Looking forward to reading your good advice soon.
