If it is for breakfast, we eat them from the holders. Today I had boiled egg for lunch and it was sliced and put in a sandwich with mayo. Sometimes for lunch I have it made into egg mayo with chopped onion. Maybe the egg cup is a British thing.

Do you mean egg cups..if so we use them here for hard or soft boiled eggs. We have some but personally we prefer poached eggs.

We only use them for soft boiled ...Ooo I do love a dippy egg with soldiers but only if they're from my own chooks.

I cant eat shop bought eggs now and have a lot of friends and family asking when our hens will be coming back into lay as they like our eggs. We've just gone from 1-2 eggs a day to 4-6 laid so should be able to supply our demand pretty soon. Think we will need to bring in some additional troops this year - thinking of cream legbars as we can then incubate the blue eggs to ensure no inbreeding (already have chicks from the cockerel but don't currently have any blue layers). Chicks should be autosexed as our cockerel is a light sussex so early culling of any cockerel chicks.

I buy the eggs that are on sale and packaged in the cardboardy type cartons. But I do pass on the empty cartons to a person who has chickens and she reuses them to sell her eggs. I can't afford her prices so I bargain shop.

I like my soft boiled eggs in an egg cup and cooked so that the whites are solid and the yolk slightly set. And soldiers to go with.

I go through a lot of eggs because I bake a lot and of course each batch of icecream uses 4 yolks. Then the whites go in gluten free bread for my grandson.

Talking about being in the kitchen, I'm beginning to feel that I have an obsession for cookware. If I see an add with a different kind of pot or whatever, I follow the link and read it. Obviously I don't buy very often because a. I don't have the money and b. I don't have the space.

I own one of those heavy sets of Cuisinart pots and pans and added the double boiler and steamer to make it feel "complete".

I have several fry pans and one is just for making pancakes and it's indents also have those waffle dints that make the cakes look nice.

I don't know how making baking pans I have. I know I have at least 8 mini loaf pans, 6 medium loaf pans, a couple of large ones and then round ones of all shapes and sizes. And muffin pans and so on.

I think my favourite pot is the cheapest one that is medium in size but works both with regular and induction! How about you?

I would join you there @CanadianLori - I love a good pot or pan. My favourite is an enamelled cast iron casserole pot that is essentially identical to one of those Le Cruset ones, only without the price tag! It is so heavy, I cannot lift it when it is full (that falls to Mrs C at the moment)

Roasting traditional Pork Roast and sauerkraut later with mashed spuds, and green beans. I love to caramelize the sauerkraut in the pork juices the last hour of the roast. What are all you making for New Years Day.

Have one of those heavy Le Cruset. Two awesome black iron skillets, one large one (12 inch) and one smaller (8 inch). Love the none stick skillets from Ikea, one is a crepe pan that is a delight to use even for simple over easy eggs. Have loaf pans, pie pans, muffin pans, glass 8 inch baking pans, Wok. large casserole bowels, large glass roasting dish, and the traditional Turkey roaster. But my special pans I have had since I was 22 years old, called Vita Craft. They have lived well through, housemates, and two husbands, and odd and ends of people cooking in my kitchen. They come with a lifetime warranty. They are stainless steel with an iron core sandwiched between, can even find used ones on ebay. They have well fitted lids so little water can be used to steam the vegges done. Pan set includes a steamer and a double boiler also. Pans that need to be willed to someone when I pass. Once, some room mate dropped a lid and broke the hard plastic bob off the top, I called them, they sent me one free, and after 40+ years the handles got too wiggly for the screw driver, called them they sent me a new handle with new screw bob to replace, free. Still in business they are. I was lucky to have worked for a dealer of them in my early 20's so got a major discount for them. Yes, I love these pans. Stuccu.com: Best Deals on vita craft cookware.
