    Hi,

I got a indoor plant for many years but lately the new leaves becomes yellowing very soon right after its emergence and would like to ask the cause of it and solutions and first of all would like to identify the plant.

    Many Thanks!

Underwatered, overwatered, too dry in the room,

    Wrong type of compost

Feed it...mist it, put in a sunny window.

    All options eyhy.

    Good luck!!

    Hi

Your plant is called" Dracacena draco/Marginata " one or the other with the end name

I have a feeling you have overwated, this time of year you keep on the dry side as its not growing as quickly over the winter period and water rots the roots, probably need to be re-potted in the spring with fresh compost.

The leaves need a spray with a fine mister otherwise the end of the leaves die off and go all crinkly and brittle at least 5 times a week if you have the central heating on

Dracaena are caviar to spider mite, so check for them too.
Wiping each leaf with a damp cloth and misting twice a day should see the back of them.

When was the last time it was fed?

You say its been ok for years, but the problem has developed fairly recently. For these years that it was fine, has it always been in the same pot in the same compost? If it has, and has never been fed, then it will be starving to death.

If the leaves becomes dry before they fall it is likely too much heating.

Floppiness in general of roots or trunk it is not a good sign.
You should take the plant out of the soil and check that the roots are healthy, not rotting. In case they are rotting (therefore they cannot absorb water),get rid of the dry leaves, bad roots and all the floppy parts and disinfect with a fungicide. Then plant again in clean soil well drained.

If the problem is due to parasites you will see at the base of the leaves some evidence like a powdery substance or some other strange presence.

Thanks for the suggestions, I am actually now living in Austria and i try to feed with something call 'neemschrot' and watered once a week. It seems like the leaves are not fully grown before they wilt. The room temperature is kept ~18 degree in winter and I have tried chopped the top part sometimes ago according to some suggestions but the new one growing seems still have the problem. Perhaps should really changing the plot, soil and apply fungicide or pesticide. Attached the close up photo of the top part. Would like to ask if changing pot and adding new soil should carry out now or wait till warm season? Thanks a lot for your help !!

Thanks for the suggestion , will repot in spring. Would like to ask what pot size will be needed for a 1.7m plant or should I try to propagate it by cutting stem so perhaps shorter plant makes the absorption etc. more efficient?
