Er .... I know I'm a bit slow but it's not April 1st already, is it? Iran is apparently threatening to pull out of the Olympics unless the logo is changed because it spells out 'Zion', allegedly. Personally I think we should change it because it's an awful logo. I have difficulty reading '2012' into it, let alone 'Zion'.

    Not seen the logo.

But I'm with Luke, do we really care if they come or not?

Now if we didn't turn up, that could be a real problem.:D

OK just seen the logo in the link, if they can make Zion out of that they must be really bosseyed.
You know I'm starting to think they might just be a bunch of trouble makers.

Pete, if they can make Zion out of that, the ban on booze and drugs can't be working too well. :heehee:

    Blimey,

And there was I thinking that the logo spelled out "Death to all the infidels, the non believers of Islam will be purged from the face of the Earth."

Funny what you can read into nothing really.

I looked at the BBC logo the other day & wondered how it hadn't made me go out and behead people for comitting adultary before.

Then again, each to their own :what::DOH:

 I have to agree that it is a pretty rubbish logo to be honest... I think you could read 1 or 2 words into that if you really wanted to too...!!!! Somebody didn't think that through did they...!!!!
Shame The five interlocking rings represent the union of the five continents and the meeting of the athletes of the world at the Olympic Games

As it says in the Olympic Charter, the five-ringed symbol "represents
the union of the five continents and the meeting of athletes from
throughout the world at the Olympic Games."
Baron Pierre de Coubertin conceived of both the symbol and the flag.

The Olympic Committee adopted the flag in 1914, and it was first flown at the 1920 Antwerp Games.

 It is a very distant 5ring symbol this time..!!!!

That logo is crap to say the least. When it was unveiled in 1997 the animated version caused 12 people to have epiletic fits. When it comes to wasting money we would win a gold medal, it cost £400k :cry3:

I couldn't eat my tea the other day when I got in from work. I was really hungry too, but the wife had been racist. The dinner she'd made me clearly had strong religious symbolism. It was clearly linked to this religion:

Don't know how anybody can read anything in there :what:
But if Iran wants to stay away - they're welcome

Good job they didn't choose this one (Google image search "alternative 2012 olympics logo") as Zion is clearly hidden in it:

I can also see a Lion, a Loo and a Loon. May be the person that objected is a Loon :heehee: :loll:

And, of course, they couldn't use that logo because it's a secret sign of Zod

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKDFop0aqYQ

and only old Zods are allowed to use it.
