    Hello all! New member here and had a question about tissue cultured plants: is it possible to get a tissue cultured Monstera Deliciosa to produce multiple shoots? Thanks in advance!

    @Chris Cameron Don't know a great deal about tissue culture of plants, but I would expect a tissue cultured plant to behave as a plant produced by a cutting once it was growing under normal conditions.

      I would have hoped so, but apparently its slow to grow and hard to produce multiple shoots?

      @Chris Cameron
      As it grows as a vine in the wild it may well not form multiple shoots easily, preferring to get one shoot up into the light. Going back many years I seem to remember that under the right conditions they grow rapidly.

        It lives up to its name, I've seen 30 to 40ft high specimens in Madeira where it grows like a weed. Think it comes from tropical forests in Mexico so really you would have to duplicate those conditions to get multiple shoots. It's only a small house plant in the UK.

          When I grow it I find I get one main stem with smaller ones eventually forming at the base.
          I think that is probably it's main form of growth.
