    Hi everyone!

Does anyone know what this pink/orange thing is on my very sad looking acer?

Is it dying? I haven't had any leaves on the top this year - only around the trunk?

Any advice would be really appreciated. [IMG]

Looks like coral spot, raised pink spots? you will have to cut out all dead and diseased branches and paint with Arbrex. Dead wood is the breading ground for the fungus, and the spores infect living trees through cuts and wounds.

Tropical I agree with you entirely, and, monroe, when you`ve cut out all the affected parts spray the rest with a systemic fungicide every 10 days. David.
