    Good afternoon all,

New to the site but wanted to ask a question about a newly planted Japanese Privet Tree. It's about 3m tall and is pleached to a large frame so fairly supported.

I've only recently started to see quite a few leaves drop off it while leaves still attached starting to show brown spots on them (see photos).

I was just wondering if this is a bad sign that the tree is dying and is there anything I can do to nurture it back to health if required.

As the weather is improving should I start to see new growth or is that later in the year?

Thank you for your help in advance.

being evergreen might it be the old leaves now dying off as the new leaves develop?

I'm not sure as I'm not familiar with this type of tree/specie. I hope it's just that and nothing under lying.
