Jiffy-7 Germinating Horticultural Peat Pellet , but which one ?

    I've only tried them once as they came free with a new propagator a few years back and I'm still finding them in the garden.They seem to take forever to rot down.

            Don’t like them at all. They hinder, even prevent, root development too. Yep, a waste of time in my opinion :)

                I didn't know you could still get these, bought some years ago and thought they were not a good idea, the fact they are difficult to keep wet in order to not hinder root growth, but at the same time go green, if you do, kind of seemed like a downer at the time.
                Much easier to use small pots.

                The ones I had seemed to have a kind of plastic net over them which expanded with the pellet, so hung around for ages, and stunted roots.

                  Yes I agree and also they're said to 'avoid root disturbance' yet as I recollect when I used them in a seed tray you still had to rip them apart as they grew into each other.
