My greenhouse doors have been frozen solid for weeks and finally got them open today.

I brought eight orleanders and four loropetalum chinensis black pearl in pots into the shed a couple of weeks ago, the compost still froze. I brought them back out today, they'd "unfrozen" and the soil was stll moist, but I thought I'd let them enjoy a drop of rain.

That's quite lucky, it rained, then froze then pushed my doors half off the greenhouse so it's duct-tape madness out there-mind you, it goes with the rest of the greenhouse I s'pose.

Hello, Doghouse .. . you just bought eight orleaders? is that Oleanders? I really don't think they will survive with you .... certainly not flower.

Your Witch Hazel will probably do nicely ... fancy one of those myself.

I finally got into my greenhouse yesterday - first time this year as it's been iced up for weeks (unusual for Surrey). I gave up trying to overwinter tender stuff years ago, now I just have a few salad leaves. My Little Gem lettuce have gone black and mushy but the Rocket and Lambs Lettuce are doing just fine. They haven't dried out at all, hope all your plants are OK Scotkat.

Yes, I did say orleanders, I bought them a couple of months back, from Ideal World (a request by my wife).
If they don't flower, we'll be getting our money back, but I've no doubt that as they say they will, they will.
With a company that size, they can't afford for them not to.
