Hi guys, I have just planted 5 raspberry canes in my soft fruit bed - they are 'GLEN AMPLE' for summer fruit. There are a number of buds on each cane. Can I expect any fruit from these this year I wonder?

    RE: Just planted raspberyy canes.

Cut the original canes down to 9" - 12" (above a bud).

Once the new canes appear cut the original canes down to ground level. This means you won't get a crop in the first year, but the plants will put more energy into getting established.
