We have a man who owns several milk rounds, but they don’t deliver here so we get it on our weekly shop delivery.
I found he keeps it in a container with no cooling, doesn’t get his deliveries every day so no idea how old it is

My ride on mower developed sparks on its last run, so it’s sat in shed till last week.
Turns out a belt keeper on the blade deck was catching on the pulley, so set out to find a replacement for the rusty bent round bar. Well it turns out the cost is £49 for what is a 6” piece of bent bar, so I bought 2 pieces of stainless bar and bent one to shape, total cost £4.99.
How could they the greedy people.

I found out the same thing @jimcubs with a scope ($20) I bought. Turns out it didn't come with the mount and that, which is simply a piece of metal or plastic with a notch cut out, was another $20 plus shipping. There are no local suppliers to save on the shipping.

And now I've got it, I don't think it is correct. When I hit the target, it is not near the bullseye with this new set up. I do only use a drawn bullseye on a post it note for a target but still, it is too far off to be correct. Lots of money for, well, nothing.

        Lots of greed going on.

I get milk from our local farmer, have to collect though as he does not deliver in our parish due to lack of demand. He does, both glass and plastic bottles of milk which comes from a local dairy, about 8 miles away. We generally get the milk in 2 litre plastic bottles now as the kids don't tend to have cereal anymore. Fresh glass bottled milk always tasted better, well I think so. When we used to get glass bottled milk, we always used to store it on the middle shelf inside the fridge, not the door shelf.

In catering, fridges do not have any racking on the inside door, and along with the top shelf, that is the warmest part of the fridge. We keep daily records of the fridge and freezer temps in our cafe, a faulty fridge could be disastrous to a catering business. If your finding dairy products are going off sooner than the use by date, then your fridge could be the issue.

Well, the supermarket stuff is on the door with the bottles.
I been leaving any supermarket stuff until I've used up the bottled stuff.

You could get away with it only lasting a couple of days when they delivered every day.

I bought Digital Temperature gauge, the probe was inserted inside the fridge, the gauge sits outside. I try and keep the temp around -5/6 shopping.png

I like that John, we have a temp gauge inside the fridge so we check regularly. We take it on our holidays after a bad experience with a rented apartment where all our food went off because their fridge was faulty.

Good idea about the gauge. I have one for ovens and one for refrigerator /freezers. But they are old fashioned and just sit in the unit. I like my new refrigerator. It has temperature controls for the top section, the refrigerator drawer and then the freezer drawer. And they are all sealed off from each other. The drawers within those compartments have "controls" but we all know that is just air hole size.

I like that the controls for the main areas have actual temperature settings, not 1,2 3, or low, med high.

The ice maker can't keep up with me but that's a moan for another time. At least I have the fridge with the ice maker in the cellar as a back up to keep me chilled!

Both our fridge and freezer have their own digital temperature display on the outside. I have no idea in what part of the fridge it takes the temperature. I don't think it really matters as it doesn't get opened that often.

My fridge must be the same as yours. The exception being that these days, mine gets opened all the time. Lately I have had trouble focusing on any particular project and when I get like that I also get bored easily and then I tend to prowl around like a dog, searching for something new to eat.

@Upsydaisy I haven't seen that one but it sounds dreadful.

I once saw the tail end of a cartoon that had "potato people" and the theme music was "Funeral March of a Marionette", the same as was used for the Alfred Hitchcock show's theme. :thud:Maybe people just dont think ...
