My mobile phone network, Virgin are stopping Pay As You Go tariff. I have my PAC Code so I can transfer my phone number to a new network.
Virgin sent a text stating if there is a debit on my account this must be paid, it also said any credit cannot be refunded:yikes: well they can poke the odd £5 in credit:whistle:

Use the fiver to enter one of those competitions you get on the TV, better than letting Virgin have it.

I really dislike the ads on the radio where at the end of them some says, at extremely high speed, their terms and conditions and their disclaimers. I make a point on trying never to buy anything that they are advertising. :paladin: So far I have never needed to break that promise to myself. :)

Utter madness .If only someone got their act together it would certainly save the struggling NHS some much needed pennies.:wallbanging:

I have a very long awaited hospital appointment coming up in a couple of weeks time and I have said ( half jokingly) that it will get cancelled. Well today I received not 1.. nope not 2.. but 3 letters from the hospital all dated the exact same day !!!

No.1-cancelled my appointment and said that they would be in touch soon with a new date.

No.2- gave me the new appointment ...4 days earlier than the original. :yahoo:

No.3- was a combination of the first 2.:yikes: Informing of the cancellation and of the date of the new appointment!!!:yikes:

            Why oh why...it beggars belief!:thud:

I have a similar moan about how they are doing appointments, but its a bit complicated to explain.
But it involves me getting a phone appointment coming up on Monday, and a letter today giving me an appointment at a private hospital for 1st March.
              For the same problem.

I was actually thinking the same thing today as I had the radio on, very rare for me.

I listen to it a lot as I have the radio on when working in the kitchen and spend quite a long time in there.

                    Report from the beeb:

Cabinet minister Michael Gove missed an interview slot on BBC Radio 4's Today programme earlier after getting stuck in a lift.

Is this sort of 'news' really worth the licence fee?

New pole and some cables to be removed and go under ground, this chap is working only a foot away from a live uncovered cable :yikes: you can see the 3 phaze cable in the for ground but the uncovered cable you can't see in the pic

                          Dudley Doright doing stupid things..

One of the signature experiences of the Omicron wave has been multi-hour lineups of cars queuing up for a COVID-19 test. In Burnaby, B.C., police saw a woman using her phone while in a 2.5 hour lineup and decided to slap her with a $300 ticket for distracted driving. In a statement, Burnaby RCMP said they had noticed “ongoing issues” among motorists in the constant, slow-motion crawl of test-site traffic, including “using electronic devices” and “not wearing seatbelts

I wonder if the law applies if you have a stop and start engine.
Surely if the engine isn't running your not driving the car.

We all know why these laws are made, but I think we should expect just a small amount of common sense from those who are supposed to be policing them.

I think it was out and out stupidity. I hope they get reprimanded!

But I did not think of the stop/start vehicles. Interesting idea.

Many years ago, where I worked we had to park in the street.
Most days it was fine, but Tuesdays was market day and the market was just along the end of the street.

Every Tuesday the police would be out early putting no parking cones along the road, but we used to ignore them, and nothing much happened, until one day one copper decided to give us all tickets.
We all took an hour off work and marched down to the police station, must have been about 15 of us.
The copper on the desk just said, what idiot booked all you lot, I'm not doing all this paperwork.
Went out the back, spoke to someone and told us the tickets are all void.
