My lawn is infested with Leatherjackets (the grub stage for crane-flies or 'Daddy-Long-Legs') resulting in a very patchy lawn. Any advice to treat the problem will be greatly appreciated. David

Try Nemasys or Nemaslug. Needs to be applied now (April) and can be diluted and applied through a sprayer or watering can. Your locl garden centre or nursery should be able to supply. There are also chemical based products if you are that way inclined.

    Hi Dave
If the lawn isn't too big & you're not squeamish theres another method, which is watering the grass & covering the area with opaque plastic sheet over night, in the morning they will have come to the surface & you can pick them off & dispose of them in any way you like (try leaving some on the bird table if you have one). But thanks for the tip Penlan, I thought nemaslug/sys worked for slugs & weevils only!
