Gosh, Sis, how wonderful ... I don't know which to say I like the best ... the tiger, the meercat, the eles (love the two with the trunks entwined), the Zebras ... the ????? just look at those babe Giraffes ... I want one! You really must have been in your element and don't you love digital cameras ... and GC to share such wonders with everyone? Thank you ... [IMG]

    Thanks rosa and Sis.

Rosa, help yourself if you see anything worth painting.

I'll be e-ing you a few more zoo pics tomorrow Sis. How did I live before we got the digi I ask you? Not only taking pics and seeing them right away but sharing them too - a great invention.

    Thanks walnut.

I must tell you about the elephants. To the pic you like Sis, well, the eli on the left, the smaller of the two, was a real tough little one, kept wanting to push the larger one away. Since they kept shoving each other near this sort of hole, which I guess was a mudbath before the water dried up, I think each one was trying to gain control of it. Sometimes the bigger eli would advance first and the little one would push the other out. Other times the little cheeky one would stand in it and refuse to budge when the bigger one tried to get in too.

The smaller one is on the left in the second pic having a bath, and on the top in the fourth pic, already out of the water. He only had the bit of a tusk on the right side and it looked like it was broken to boot.

Have you noticed the one in the background in the second picture, standing there with crossed front legs?

Great pics KG, particularly for me the Zebras and the camouflaged Giraffes(shows how that pattern works). Keep them coming.

    Thanks strongy.

Do you mean more zoo pics or others? I have both, but I think these are the best of the zoo ones.

Thanks strongy. No, we have never been to the zoo in Munich (Hellabrunn Zoo). Munchen is about an 8-hour drive from us up north. Hope your son enjoys both his time on the language course and also his trip to the zoo.

Here is a link you might like to read and perhaps then tell him of especially interesting things to see in the zoo.

Thanks for that Kedi, I guess it's in the Deep South to you. :D
He is going to Bolivia for 9 months two weeks after returning from Munich. He's doing Sanish as well as German, haven't got anyone on the site from Bolivia!

Sorry, I don't know anyone in Bolivia either. Our next-door neighbours daughter is doing a school exchange in Argentina, same as her brother did 2 years ago. Last about 10 months. The neighbours have an American girl at their house at the moment, I haven't met her yet.

I love Spanish, have taken a few courses but never really learnt enough to have a conversation, just enough to get by. Our eldest grandson has started grammar school and is taking Spanish, I said that he can teach me.

Good luck to your son and hope he enjoys it all. What a wonderful experience, isn't it?
