I remember a relation telling me he got shot and wounded on a milk run. Apparently the Germans objected to him dropping bombs on them.:snorky:

Back to subject. I dont really know if the rules are still the same, but if they are...

Once upon a time, engineering constructions that were built for people to stand on were dimensioned to flex a maximum of 0,5% of the span width when a load of 500kg per square metre was placed on them. This load came from a person that weighed 100kg landing on it from a height of 500mm. Thats probably the reason lift capacities are measured in persons. Take note though that if a separate weight limit of say 1000kg is given, the amount of persons will be under 10.

If anyone ever travels to Hamburg, and takes the lift up the tower of St. Michaelis, they will see that although the lift there is dimensioned for 10 people, sensors govern the weight limit, Quite often this will be triggered with only 7 or 8. They make the extra leave the lift!

My great aunt was killed by milk float. The milk mans horse used to pretend to run her over. One day it did. :yikes:

That's like one of those weigh yourself scales they have (or did have) in supermarkets etc.

            "One at a time please."

@strongylodon Yes, I knew Honey (Anne) and her boss Martin (who started the Honeycombs). I have just come home from a bridge match and drove past where he used to live. I don't think I should say any more about them unless I ask 'Have I the Right?' :lunapic 130165696578242 5:
