Indeedy, even had to spray some of my greenhouse plants today as the first signs of a few whitefly on them.

Time to get the yellow sticky cards out again.

They look like aphids to me.
They crop up all winter in my greenhouse, in fact often winter is worse for aphid than mid summer.
No natural predators around at this time of the year.

I noticed ladybirds outside on my alstromerias, they must be feeding on something.

Might they be Mealy bugs?????? Quick dab of meths and that's it.

Yes we all enjoy these fine days of sun and wrmth. In the horticultural zone, we are several weeks ahead. For some time now, I have seen buble bees in the garde. They have been tempted out of hibernation by the extra warmth. So often I fond baby lady bugs on my windows. Even this evening whilst at the computer, a wee bug ventured out of my keyboard.

We move a lot of them into the greenhouse and put them on any plants that have whitefly. The first thing they do is walk off the plants and start exploring the wooden staging!
