I'm sure we have all seen this on the news over the past couple of days, and the more time wears on, the more the belief seems to strengthen that this plane was the victim of a sudden and catastrophic breakup at high altitude; further to that, it seems to be believed that this is the result of a terrorist attack.

Now, its the terrorist attack bit that I don't really get, and I am kinda hoping that someone will be able to explain?

Who would want to blow up a Malaysian plane, with two thirds of the passengers being Chinese, and why? I am not aware of any frictions with Malaysia or China from the likes of the muslim extremists - or have I completely missed something?

Its so sad for the passengers family& friends not knowing,i heard that the 2 guys who they might suspect as terrorist was sold them tickets as they were the cheapest way to get to europe so it seems that flight wasnt a target if true.
It hasnt gone up so it has def come down somewhere, hope they find them soon x

All the evidence so far sadly points at a mid air break up.
If this is the case we may never know the real cause terrorist or mechanical.
They have upto 30 days to find the black box before the battery runs out.

If it broke up in mid air for any reason, would the event not have shown up on radar?

This gets weirder (and more scary) by the day.

If you're hijacking it to crash it you would be unlikely to do it on the quiet.
If you're hijacking it to make some kind of point then even if the authorities hush it up for some reason you will be shouting about to promote your cause/movement/organisation.
Or you're stealing it. But why? It's not as if there's a huge market for hooky triple sevens. I guess that it would carry a rather large payload of explosives or chemical/biological weapons though.

It's odd that relatives reported mobile phones still ringing, that suggests it didn't crash :dunno:

So nobody on the plane (over 300) made any calls? could all of the phones have been jammed?
None of the satellites (which are supposed to be able to read news print from a thousand miles up) have seen any wreckage!

Just plane (no pun) weird. A plane full of people can't just disappear with all the tracking gizmos governments have! Even with all nav systems turned off and passengers at gunpoint having their phones taken there would still be satellite imagery of the area to look through. If it doesn't show on that then it was probably landed pretty quick and covered.

Begs the question - what reason?!

This whole thing is getting stupid now - someone, somewhere, knows something about this plane but are keeping quiet.
