Does this forum share its members list with third parties?

The reason I ask is because I've received two unsolicited gardening-related marketing emails within the past couple of days. One from evengreener.info and the other from GardenBargains.com. I've never received anything like this before joining, and this forum is the only source I can think of.

    Thanks!

No GC does not share details FunkyMunky.. The very fact that you have been looking at gardening on the web is all some companies need I think.. They are very sneaky how they latch on to you... :WINK1:

That's good to know. I didn't think you actually did, but I thought it was worth asking.

But how on earth would they get my email address? I'm very careful about who I give my email address out to, and I only allow sites I regularly visit to put cookies onto my PC.

The questionaires that come through the door with the free pen and offering a free draw / prize for answering is a blatent marketing ploy.
If you answer the questions not only do you advise them of your interests, you also "GIVE PERMISSION" for anyone who buys their mailing list to target you "legitimately".
Local authorities etc. also sell mailing lists and most people have a garden of some description.
It costs them nothing to target everyone. You may not be directly targeted for your interests - they just coincided with the current stream of spam type mailshot.
