    Users Vote Guidelines below:-

    1. Competitors cannot vote for any of their own photographs.

    2. Please vote on a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place basis with 1st place carrying 5 points, 2nd place 3 points and 3rd place 1 point - The photograph with the highest points wins.

    3. Votes should be cast within three days after this thread starting. (cut off 23:59 on 4/6/06)

All members of the forum get a vote, not just those who've submitted pictures.

The Winner of the competition chooses the theme for the next competition, which I will start when the voting finishes. So put your thinking caps on incase you are the winner ;)

    thanks again

    Nathan.

Well I suppose someone has to be first to make the very difficult descision.

    1. Paladin's "Bloom With a View" - A really superb piece of photography as well as fitting the brief perfectly.

    2. Fran's "Ducks". Wild indeed, and an example of being in the right place at just the right time and spotting the opportunity.

    3. Marge's "Fungi". A perfectly natural and "wild" framing of one of nature's most interesting organisms. I could smell them!

Loads of other brilliant photos submitted this month. It was a really good subject and I found it quite hard to choose "winners".

    1. Nik's Blue Tits. Really special photo that shows us something that we cannot see for ourselves.
    2. Marge's Orchids. Good group, well lit, sharp focus
    3. Nathan's Scot's Pine. Crisp and clear and a subject that most of us would not think to take

I might have included Paladins's three-cornered leeks if the horizon had been straight - sorry mate! Otherwise, it is an excellent shot of a wild plant in its environment.

Quality of entries is staggeringly good. Does GC have an archive? We could begin to compile a superb photo-library of pictures such as these.

    1. Roders - Hole in fence. The framing was great and I love cow parsley.
    2. Hornbeam - Gentian. One of my favourite flowers - achingly beautiful.
    3. Marge - Wild Orchids. It's always difficult to choose between Marge's pictures - they're always excellent but this one did it for me...

    Great pictures again this month.

    1st Fran 'Broads'
Love the clear reflection almost like a mirror.

2nd Dave W 'Leave only footprints'

    3rd Nik's 'Nestlings'

To repeat what everybody has already said, it was a very difficult decision as so many were really good.

Difficult again this month - but for me:

    1. Marley Farley's redwoods -

    2. Nathan's scots pine

    3. Paladins Bloom with a view

I loved Marge's fungi, Roder's Lake District and Dave W Seascape too, then there was Pete's natural graft and ........ they were all very good again this month.
