As in for mince pies, rather than for spag bol or cottage pie.

Do you buy yours or make it? If you buy it do you have a favourite and do you add anything?

Just wondering as I've bought mine this year and currently trying out small additions of port and brandy. Hic.

I have half a jar of Robertson's in the fridge which might have been there for three years. Does that answer your question?

Robertsons mincemeat went down to 20p in Tesco and Asda this summer with a BB date after Xmas 2015 (it went down to 10p in 2012, what a ridiculous rate of food inflation!). We bought extra in 2012 and donated it to be turned into mince pies and sold to raise funds for Cats Protection.

Oh yeah :) mince pie with port infused mincemeat and a sprinkling of sugar and cinnamon. Baked while watching Christmas films, lighting the fire and enjoying the tree!
Slowly building my Christmas mojo back:)

I've never made my own mincemeat, but I'm gonna have a stab at it next year.

I make my own and I'm on my last jar at three years old. I add 'quite a lot' of very dark rum!

                  Cheers, Tony.
