    Hi,

    5 years ago I gave our front room a comprehensive makeover involving adding wall panels to the lower wall sections. I had been wondering how to paint these and didn't want to go to lots of trouble masking for spraying; neither did I fancy the chore of brush painting. Whilst over in Halifax I noticed a decorator's store so popped in and asked if there were such things as really mini paint rollers.

    Yes there were but unfortunately the store had sold out and couldn't obtain more but at least I now knew they were available. I spent hours browsing the web until I came across "Decorating Direct"; WOW at last a supplier with these mini rollers in stock; having spent so much time finding them I bought 60 of each in fabric and foam.

    These mini rollers made the painting a pleasure; I used a brush to get into corners etc then quickly went over with one of these mini rollers; I also bought the correct roller frame and a Pelican paint kettle; I did spray the new wooden mantle I made doing this in the workshop;

    I've just used one of these mini foam rollers whilst painting in our rear extension; I used a paint brush on the frames but the long wide cill I used the roller on because I could get the paint on rapidly before it dried; it was a scorching hot day;

    I used the same roller on the back door saving lots of time.

    I hope this is of use because as I say I spent ages searching for such rollers so thought I'd pass the information on.

    Kind regards, Colin.

      If these rollers are what I'm thinking about you can get them in most places, even my local hardware store sells them.
      I've got a long reach version supposed for going down behind radiators.

          I have used them for gloss on doors, fast and get a good finish. Best thing is no cleaning just throw the refill away. Cheap at screwfix.

              Hi,

              Many thanks for your replies.

              2" rollers; sorry I should have made this clear; anyone know anywhere else 2" rollers can be bought? I spent a lot of time on the web looking for them.

              4" rollers can be bought anywhere and I have lots of these too but I wanted rollers to get into narrow gaps and these 2" rollers were brilliant.

              Kind regards, Colin.

                  Must admit I'd only used the 4" ones, seemed OK for me to get into corners but can see how a smaller one could be useful too.
