I'm on heavy clay, but I've got a dozen packets of perennial seeds that I'd like to use. Would I be best mix the seeds with sand before I sow, and if so what kind? Garden centres seem to have dozens of choices for sand!

    thanks

I would not sow direct, start them off in some seed compost in pots or trays first to give them a good start.
