I just had a phone call from Moles Seeds (I placed an order for some seeds yesterday). They asked if I had received my order (no, as my postie doesn't come until lunchtime) and told me that they have accidentally packed Polemonium seed instead of Aquilegia. Their concern was that I might sow it without realising it was wrong.

I was gobsmacked, never had that sort of service, nor concern, in the past from the run-of-the-mill large seed companies. Hats off to them for noticing that they had packed the order wrongly, phoning to tell me, and whilst they are sending the correct seeds today they have kindly said I should keep the Polemonium rather than going to the trouble of returning it.

    5-stars :)

I've used Moles Seeds for years, although I don't buy a lot from them. They provide larger seed packets (so aimed more at large grower / allotmenteer rather than someone wanting to grow half-a-dozen of something), but in that context their seeds work out very reasonably priced. (I buy "bulk" for seeds that I know will last two or three years and spread-the-cost).

Seeds are sent out with no charge for postage :) (unless you buy large packets of peas / beans / green manure, as they are bulky).

I wonder if they mean the seed packets are wrongly labelled? I've only used Moles twice and thought they were very good, just that they don't deal in small quantities.

Well the packets in the original box are correctly labelled ... and I can't now remember which one they said was wrong ... so I'll have to wait for the replacements to know which is faulty :heehee:

OK, mystery solved (taken a while as postie had put the post somewhere I wasn't expecting (normally be opens the door and chucks it on the mat, so I never look in the letter box!!)

The replacement is Aquilegia White Star (which I ordered)

Turns out I have a packet, from the original shipment, or Aquilegia skinnerii Tequila Sunrise, which i didn't order. Presumably that is correctly labelled, and I can definitely use that, so bit of a windfall :)

Anyways, hats off to Moles Seeds for having some means of detecting that they had mis-shipped my order :)

Not in the post, but I see it in the editor if clicking on the Reply button. Trying myself [IMG]

And the same problem. Perhaps Moles are restricting their display on other sites?
