Money Plant in Flower!!

I've seen my grandparents grow money plants, my mum, myself and my father-in-law, over 30 years in total and I've never seen one flower 'in the flesh' so to speak.........until now, I have one in flower!!

 

That's impressive Bilbo, is it perfumed?

 

Can't say I've noticed, will have a wiff in the morning

 

*sigh* im such a plonker! i thought you were jokingi thought you'd gone & tied coins to the branches of a shrub or something

 

I've never seen one flowering....aren't they beautiful

 

It's lovely...it's reminded me of the one my mum had for years but I never saw it flower.

 

How old is yours Bilbo?

 

It looks good and healthy. I have one that I hope will flower this year. So pretty.

 

Not that old Keith, it was grown from a largish cutting about 3 years ago, but I do keep them 'dry' between September and March giving them little or no water, so I don't know if that's what has helped

 

Just done a quick Google and apparently lots of sunlight through the spring & summer, followed by slightly darker and dry conditions through the winter, along with being kept slightly root bound encourage flowering

 

It's a plant that has been on my wish list for a good number of years and have never got around to getting.
