Moss... stags horn?

    I have had this character in my garden for a few years now.
    Seems to favour little damp nooks and crannies. This year it was spotted in one or two of my large pots.
    Its not a problem and quite attractive in a way but it would be nice if someone could put a name to it?
    Reminds me of the "Stag Horn" moss that we spotted in Scotland when we last visited, but on a smaller scale.

    Its a lichen Robert - but I've no idea which one - think it is one of the Foliose lichens (leafy varities).

    I knew that 50p observers book of mosses & Liverworts would come in handy :)

    Just out of curiosity can anyone explain to me the difference between a lichen and a liverwort?

    Funny thing this, I always tend to prefer latin names for what I consider plants, but when it comes to what I consider weeds, the common names always seem best.

    I had not realised that Aesculus had posted the latin name for liverwort before I posted.:)
