My front lawn is mostly in shade and covered in moss. Given its relatively small size I'm taking it up and having a more 'cottagey' feel to the front with more planting and an ornamental tree... Anyhoo, whats the best way to get rid of the turf and is it possible to stack it for loam or will the moss be a problem and therefore should I throw it in a skip?

You run the risk that the moss could come back however If your intending to use it when its broken down to top up beds etc then it wont be an issue as the soil will be regularly turned over, the problem would more be if you were wanting to use it as a top dressing.

With the price of skips, Id take a risk!

Stack the turf upside down for a year and cover with black plastic sheet. All the grass and moss will die and you'll be left with some very good loam.
