I am currently redesigning my garden and I have a WEIGELA which I need to move. It is approximately five years old. Is it safe to move now assuming the roots aren't too deep!

Its better moved in the autumn really to give the winter to get established, especially as if its like mine its in flower. But if you must you can move it - soak it well before starting, get the hole it is going into well prepared (bigger than you think it needs) Take as much of root ball as possible complete with soil. Get some sacking underneath, when you have loosened it - transport to new hole, back fill with soil and a little slow release fertiliser. Heel in well and keep watered for the next 12 months.
