    Hi All

I have 2 apple trees to move one is 8 feet tall (cooking)and the other is very small about 2 feet.
When is the best time of year to move these to a new position in the garden.

    Thanks

    Dave

Hi, aren`t trees supposed to be completely dormant before disturbing them ?

Yes Freddy .... that is why they are best moved during autumn
It would be fine up until probably late March
I moved an apple tree prior to last year that had become too shaded from sunlight due to stronger growing adjacent trees
I had the best crop of apples this year that I have ever had, so the move was a great success

Well certainly over here I would wait for a while
My own personal preference is for November before the ground hardens with any frost or deeper freeze

Yep, November looks good to me there are still some green leaves on the larger tree. The smaller one is no problem I can move that any time through the winter but will probably try this in November also.

    Thanks again for the help.
