Hi all. We are having to relocate and up until now the garden has not really been our main focus along with the fact we have 2 dogs who, in the current weather conditions, have trashed the lawn.

We have planted some plants in the borders but they are all summer flowering so the garden really is not looking it's best. Is there anything that we could plant now that would survive the winter and provide some much needed colour without having to spend a fortune.

Any advice for a total novice gardener would be very gratefully received.

Pansy and Polyanthus - 'some' colour during Winter - but will take off in Spring.

Top tip -in Spring plant some 'night scented stock' - not much to look at - but by golly gosh they have a lovely evening scent. It will fill your whole garden with a gorgeous scent for not a lot of outlay. :onion:
