    Hi all,

I have some quite large sprout plants on the go and having never grown sprouts before didn't know how big the plants could get! They haven't started growing the actual sprouts yet so I wondered whether I could transplant a couple to my veg trug now the carrots are done to give them more room? Will it hurt them do you think?

You could get away with it, water really well and take as much root ball as possible, keep it well watered after transplanting.

Sprouts actually form roots on the lower stem, so you could plant them an inch or two lower than they are now.
I always used to earth up sprouts before winter the help with wind rock during the winter.

Brilliant thank you, I'll give it a go when I finish work. There is plenty of room to transplant them too so I'm hoping they'll be happy!

Very handy to know, thank you. I've looked at pictures but have never seen then properly in real life. Can't wait until they start forming :)

Well people have early varieties these days, but to me they were always a winter veg from around November to February, never used to start picking until after the first frost.
