I had a lot of large patches on my lawn which I seeded 3 weeks ago. The problem is, the rest of the lawn is like a jungle - if I leave it much longer, the lawnmower will struggle to get through it. The new grass is about - to 2 inches tall. Can anyone advise me as to whether I should mow the lawn or not please? Thanks for reading.

Yes Julia mow it. Set blades medium to high. Mowing will help thicken the new grass.
Regular, at least once a week, mowing will maintain best quality grass :)

Also make sure your blade is sharp with new seeded grass.

Only two inches high is too low to mow newly sown grass seed. It’s very delicate and the mower will just pull it out. I would mow around these resown patches for a few weeks until the new sowings are 5-6 inches high when the roots will be stronger and deeper. Then mow with it set on the highest setting and sharp blades.

My own lawn mown couple of times since germination a few weeks ago. My grass is kept medium height all year round and emerging grass likewise. Absolutely fine. Ditto with my niece's lawn in her new build.
I find the blades are barely above the emerging grasses.....grass never pulled out; except by niece's 13 week puppy when he gets the chance :snorky:
