My yorkie plays with foxes. This occurs frequently and I don't know if it's the same fox over the last couple of years or if they're different ones.

They come into the garden and sit waiting on the lawn. My yorkie goes ballistic and claws to get out and then a speedy chase occurs in circles with yorkie barking rabidly until she's exhausted. I think she's just as confused as we are. The fox must think our dog's a joke. It's really amusing. I really must borrow a video camera and try getting it on tape. The said fox/es also chews on any footwear left outdoors and leaves them in the middle of the garden.

    Is it just my dog?

    Hi Lboo
I am still trying to get a still pic of my fox but after two nights of trying the critters outsmarted me.
I am going to leave some food out for him (or her) tonight.

My vet pointed out that dogs can pick up some naste diseases from foxes - mange in particular. as I have said before, I have a love hate relationship with the fox.

Not only dogs Waco. Humans can get mange too. My sister, who lives in the country got it from her dogs, and she knows others. It was a long time before the doctor would acknowledge it. It is said to come from urban foxes that have been caught and then released in the countryside. With foxhunting, country foxes rarely had it (any that did were weakened and got caught by the hounds). But in urban areas it is rife. It is a most unpleasant and agonising death. Foxes can literally scratch themselves to death.
