Wow - that looks amazing! Not sure I'd have liked to be in a boat beside such big crocs, but some of your first pics look idyllic! Loving the other wildlife ones too!

Fantastic! T'other half and I immediately took to your outdoor shower as that's all we have at the moment with our building works ... but yours is a bit more exotic than our orange groves. [IMG]

Incredible pictures but very similar to here ... except we are on the Atlantic so COLD waters ...

Keep them coming ... love it ... [IMG]

[IMG] Well finally have computer time..!!

Here are my pics of the Royal Palm Reserve.

"Finally" I hear you say Bm!!... :D

It is a wonderful place. Quite breath-taking to walk around.
The Royal Palm Reserve is one of Jamaica's leading Eco-tourism attractions. The Reserve is an amazingly beautiful and tranquil forest within the Negril Great Morass. (the filtration system for it all).
This 300-acre site boasts 114 plant species including the Royal Palm found only in this area and over 300 animal species including birds, butterflies and reptiles. Sadley only saw one butterfly.
There is a lovely board walk all the way round about half a mile We did climb the 30feet observation tower to get an overhead view of the Great Morass too. Not keen on heights but the views were again breathtaking.

    This is the entrance
    [IMG]

As you can see the boardwalk is a good way to see it all.

Everything is so lush & green, even though they have had no rain to speak of since Dec. The rainy season has just started.

There is hardley a spec of bare earth anywhere as everything is covered in morning glory vines Thunbergia of every colour and yellow nightsage. A bit like bindweed here..!!

Philodendrons cover the palms like giant ivys.

    Houseplants to us here...
I can only apologise for some of the photos, but the sun was so bright & hot I think the camera had a problem at times.

[IMG] I hope you are not too dissapointed BM.. ;)

Looking skywards at the Royal Palms (Roystoniea regia) or cabbage Palm. So majestic.

When you get to the middle you can climb the 30' tower to get awesome views... This is looking over to the mountains.

You can just sort of see the Morass between the reserve & the mountains in this tele shot.

A stitch of the view from the tower. You can just see the board walk on the left.

    A Wicker Vine.

I think this one must "have got religion"...!!

[IMG] Last few pics of a smashing day out. I just loved the peace & tranquility of the place.

There are bromelaids all over the place as well.

    And airplants too.

The one & only butterfly I saw that day. A White Peacock.

The boardwalk brings you back by the lake.

There were whistling ducks there too.. :D
    [IMG]

    A stitch of the lake.

;) Took these next couple for you BM. We sat & had a few beers & watched the sun go down on a smashing day. Right by the bar there was this green banana tree. In the caretakers garden.

    A few days dinner here.

Beautiful, Marley. Love that boardwalk ... and the White Peacock ... and the stitch photos of the lake ... and the dusk photos. You must have had a terrible time ... tearing yourself away from there! [IMG] Thank you for letting us visit The Royal Palm Reserve with you.

    Only joking [IMG] :D

I can't believe those palms, they seem to go on for miles. Love the banana, the fruit is a bit bigger than mine [IMG]

I have pinched this one for my desktop [IMG]

What's With the headless palms, are there enormous giraffes in Jammy ?
