Grabbed a couple of plants which were the last two in the reduced bin at Asda a few days ago, a begonia for 18p and some 'foliage' for 10p. Felt very sorry for them so brought them home to live out their days here.

I've seen some posts online about being able to move the begonia outside. It's looking reasonably healthy now I've taken the dead stuff off it, anyone have any idea if it'll survive being planted out in the garden?

I'm not an expert Sarah, but I have a couple of begonias that go out in the shade from around May and do very well until around November time, when they come back indoors and overwinter as a houseplant x

I suppose it can't hurt to try it anyway, considering it was only 18p! I wonder if it's possible to repot it if it starts to suffer?

what type of begonia is it , you should keep on the windowsill until 1st week of May as its just too cold out and if we have a any frost and plenty of time for them it will kill it.

Keep it inside until early May . Just keep it lightly watered on a warm windowsill and give it a little feed every two weeks . You may have a winner on your hands there !

Not a clue on the type, other than 'scraggy'. haha!

It's currently on my front windowsill which gets sun in the early morning. Seems to be looking a bit better now. :)
