Hi all, Im new to this site and have purely joined to find out the name of a shrub I keep seeing when driving. I see it in 4 front gardens on my school run, covering 3 different villages.
The shrub is fairly small (although this could be because of its age),with bright pink leaves. They are definately leaves and not flowers.
I have googled but can not find anything!
Please can you help establish the name of this for me.
    Thanks lots! :-)

Does the shrub have pink leaves all year round?

Hi and thank you for the welcome & replies....I've only just noticed this particular shrub in the past few weeks so am unsure how it flourishes all year!
I will try to get a pic! Its a little tricky as in the front garden of houses I pass on my school run, but shall have a go!
I just googled Hebe (thank you for the suggestion) but unfortunately nothing showing looks like what I've seen! Im off out in a bit so shall try and capture a shot if the rain isnt too bad :-)
I'm planning on filling a boarder area in my garden and would love some colourful shrubs so this is why I'm enquiring.
      Thank you all again.

        Could it be a Pieris?

:) You beat me to it gcc as I thought Pieris. I had one in Bucks and I think it was around this time of the year when it was so colourful.

Why not just knock on the door of one of the shrub owners and ask what it is.
I'm sure they won't mind and you might even get a cutting of it.:)

Hi, yes it has got to be a pieris me thinks. I made a comment only a couple of days ago that they seem to be springing up everywhere. And there certainly seems to be more of them in the garden centres.
I quite enjoyed seeing all the camellias and magonolias in peoples gardens this spring as well.

Pink leaves? Not bright pink but could it be a Berberis?

I counted out Photinia John because it has red leaves and not pink.

Sheal, I had also thought about Berberis ... but Pieris kept coming up front ... :dunno:

PS I am at a disadvantage as I have not lived in the UK since 2001 except for some summer sojourns ...
