[IMG] Yesterday I decided to dig out this little flower bed. It was full of very overgrown Cottage Pinks & small Dianthus. It was very messy & as they were old were not flowering well, & was not getting the lovely scent well.. So out they had to come out...... :( Sorry but I had dug them all out before I decided to take a photo.. So only an after shot sorry.....

;) The rather dead looking tops are a few bulbs that I moved in there for the spring. [IMG]

:D Hey... Thanks Paladin.... Wanted a change & these seemed a good idea... I'm no stonemason but I can lay them out ok, so this seemed a good place to make a bed. I do have an Alpine planter as well by the back door.. :D Nice to have you back.... :D :D

It looksgood- what's underneath? I' ve got a border I thought might suit alpines, do you need to dig out and put in extra gravel for drainage? [IMG]

[IMG] Hi Liz, this was/is a very free draining border.. I just dug in some fresh compost mix & planted away as I have in another similar bed last year & they are fine.. [IMG]
