Oh how exciting a new home and a new garden and ... a new forum venue for you! :dancy:

They're a friendly bunch around here and will be happy to answer any questions you have. There's a variety of experience ranging from no knowledge at all to some who are quite expert in their field ( :love30: ).

Pull up a chair, grab yourself a cuppa - maybe a biscuit or two to keep your sugar levels up - and ... have a good nosey around

Looking forward to getting to know you around the forums Celia :)

thankyou:) im starting to wish we didnt buy somewhere that so run down! its been empty for years and before that it was a little old lady that lived here so everything is very old and dated, it didnt even have central heating..
il be sure to keep everyone updated on the garden, so far all weve done is clear it and cut everything back. apparently the lady who used to live here took a lot of pride in her gardening so hopefully il be able to return it to its former glory!

Welcome! And an old garden, goodie. Be on the lookout for surprising plants. In abandoned plots I've found roses, irises and day lilies, strawberries and eqyptian walking onions!

Welcome to GC Celia. :) I like a garden that's a challenge and it sounds like you've already got the heavy work out of the way. Any chance of some pictures along the way please? We like to see the progress. :)

Hi I moved into a very neglected garden the house was in stages of updating, we had 28 conifers taken out to get the 180deg view that was hidden.
Found a pond after 2 months near the back door, along with all sorts buried including bones.
It used to be the vicars garden so I hope they are all animal.

Welcome to the group from me also. As others have said, its a friendly place.

By all means post some photos of your garden, no matter how it looks. We all love photos on here, and someone will certainly see some aspects of it that are good, no matter how neglected you think it is.

                                Welcome to GC :blue thumb:

Things will eventually turn out well. :) When we first moved here the house was run down and the garden was a jungle. It took us three years to work our way to the bottom of the garden, removing all the undergrowth. We then found some dilapidated chicken sheds under it all :hate-shocked:.

We're quite pleased with how the garden turned out and the change in our living quarters

For those members that know our place (quite a lot of you) this is what the rear of the house looked like a couple of years after we started working on it!! :rolleyespink:
It's the area where we now have the entertainment on Open Day :yikes:
