    Hello everyone,

So glad to be joining you after wanting a garden for so long, as now I finally have one! I'm a complete beginner at this growing things malarky, and there's still masses I don't know, but i'm enjoying picking tips up from this forum and getting stuck in :)

I've even started my own blog, Growing Pains, to document my successes, failures, and maybe even help inspire other newbies find their way in the world of horticulture. Hoping my biggest challenges, namely a lack of car (as an urban gardener), and ridiculous aversion to slugs won't prove my undoing!

Look forward to chatting to you soon.

    Fyfy K

          Hello and welcome :-)

I think the lack of car wont hinder you too much. Im housebound without help and get on with gardening just fine

There are great websites for plants like you garden and of course amazon is always brilliant and if you have a milk and more milkman they deliver compost as well

so there is no need to actually leave the house lol

I'm with Dips. There are many ways to manage. I have wheels in the sense of a wheelchair. It does take me a little longer to achieve projects but the end result is well worth it. The web is a wonderful thing. Enjoy your garden and look forward to chatting about this and that.

Thanks all for the welcome :) And thanks Dips and Gwen Austin. I've already had some success ordering plants online from smaller companies, but will be trialling some bigger online nurseries in the next few weeks. Will definitely report back with my opinion of their service.

I can fully recommend yougarden for quality of plants and value. You get smaller plants in 9cm pots but if you are trying to fill a garden a lot of their shrubs come in packs of 3 for £10

There customer service is excellent too i had my first prunus kojo no mai die not sure if it was delivered dead as it was the dormant season but they replaced it straight away.
