I found this forum a short while ago. Most seem friendly, so I thought that I would join. Even if I dont live in the UK any more. If nothing else, it will add an international flavour to the forum!

A bit about myself. I live in a country area. Have done for quite a while, and love it! Since 2008, I've been redoing the garden to my own tastes. Trying in the process to avoid input that might make me do things in a way that I might not like.

Theres just the front garden left now. That will be done next Spring after new drains are laid. I should add here that at present, I'm still on water drawn from a private freshwater well. Of course, even when that area is completed, there will be some tweaking to the rest of the garden. Isn't there always?:snork:

:sign0016: to GC @Sandy Ground, lovely of you to join us.

We have a few members dotted around the globe so you should fit right. Your description of where you live does sound rather rural. Which country are you in?

Looking forward to getting to know you around the forum :)

I'm in the south of Sweden. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

As you might guess, gardening is a little different here!

      I'm sure it is different!
Can't wait to see your progress on the front garden project. But, if you have photos of what you have accomplished already anywhere in the garden ... don't be shy in posting those too (we're a nosey bunch :heehee: ). Although I think you need a minimum of 10 posts before you can upload pictures

I can bore for the planet with garden photos...:heehee:

Thankfully, the early photos - back when the house was bought - are on paper. They are too frightening to show! At that time, it was a kitchen garden that had not been tended for a number of years. It was only when we cleared it that we saw the second plum tree!

          An attempt at a photo...

Taken from the outside looking in, the wooden building with the glazed front is what I usually refer to as the "Tea Shed." After all, every man needs his shed. Just in front of that is the barbeque area which borders a rose garden. On the left of the photo, more or less unseen is a peony garden.

Welcome to GC Sandy Ground. There's a fair few of us that don't live in the UK so you're in good company. Your garden looks lovely and I look forward to seeing it progress through the summer. You'll get loads of help and advice on here if you need it and lots of laughs too if you want to join in. It's a really friendly forum and I look forward to seeing you around the different threads
