New Zealand flat worms

I was digging in the wild bit by the side of my garden today and found an orangey- brown leach like thing which I think was a New Zealand flatworm. I didn't know they'd made it as far as my neck of the woods. Does any-one know how to get rid of them? I don't think they're too well established as I've still got a healthy population of earthworms. Leaches don't live in the ground do they?

It seems there is no control, soz, other than to remove & destroy - but don't touch them with bare hands-the mucus can cause skin irritation. Seems there are places to send them to as well! (I know where I'd send 'em :rolleyes: )

Thanks for the web sites I'm pretty sure it was a flatworm now. I did pick it up with my bare hands but it didn't cause anywhere near as much irritation as the brambles I was digging out, or as much irritation as the sole of my shoe caused the wee beastie.
